Casa de Piedra-stay awhile and unwind

Activities

Boca has a good beach that is just a brief walk away - you can see it from the hotel. There is terrific hiking and bird-watching all over the mountains and down the coast. You can rent kayaks or boogie-boards (small surf boards). You can take car trips or buses to inland villages and colonial cities. In addition there are plenty of tours that will make it possible for you to snorkel, dive, sport fish, parasail, or watch humpback whales (November to April). You can take a canopy tour, ride horses in the mountains, or bicycle through spectacular scenery.

We have information and maps for all of the above in the hotel rooms. If you want to make reservations in advance, we recommend the following:

  • Tango Tours: Agustin Bas speaks excellent English. He offers personalized guided tours for small groups. He can take you snorkeling, beach-hopping, hiking to waterfalls. Check out his website.
  • Boca Dive Shop: Dive trips, snorkeling, whale watching. Click on the link to contact Karla or Steve.
  • Pedro Palomera: Horseback rides into Sierra Madre — up the Mismaloya River into the spectacular mountain scenery featured in Predator 2. Ask Angel in grocery in Boca to arrange this.
